I've missed a few Sunday Stories lately. I must admit, August got a little bit ugly for me, and I struggled to write anything positive, so decided to just stay quiet until I could turn things around.
It started off well with my annual cottage vacation, but things quickly began to go a bit awry.
I had some unfinished business that became quite difficult, so that took over the first few days. Thankfully, that was resolved, but, just in time for us to discover our hydro poles were about to collapse. Hydro One doesn't mess around, so, we were immediately disconnected, and spent the next 11 days grooving to the sounds of a generator, chain saw, chipper, and a whole host of other heavy machinery. $8000 later, we are back up and running with a pair of perfectly upright hunks of wood. They're lovely.
Things didn't much improve as we got home. There were a few missed opportunities along the way, both business and personal, (very disappointing), a slightly sick and largely stressed out kitty to deal with (my first Mommy guilt!), and, of course, the heat (we just don't get along!).
By the end of the month, I was pretty frustrated with life in general.
But, now it's September, and it's back to school!! It's funny how that feeling sticks with us isn't it? It's like a new year has begun, with all the excitement of new opportunities and possibilities!
This past week I ventured out to a restaurant for lunch with a friend (my first time since March!), I've been out visiting with clients outside of active business, (also something I'd put on hold), I've been bobbing around the countryside showing hobby farm property (always uplifting!), and I generally got a few personal things moving forward that I think had been in a Covid stall. And, my kitty is on the mend. 💗
I've definitely come out of the cocoon and become a butterfly. Soooo much better!!
