Early in the Covid situation, most of us were unsure how to manage most things, and, we had situation that needed to be managed somehow.
Our rental apartment needed a new tenant, and due to health considerations of the current tenant, there was no option to show it. It seemed a daunting situation at the time.
But, through word of mouth in my amazing agent community, we quickly had two super prospects, both moving to London from other places. One a lovely nurse being transferred here, and the other a great young couple on a long distance adventure to new jobs. As it happened, the couple was willing to rent "sight unseen", and needed it a month sooner than the nurse, which was a great help to the current tenant. She saved a month's rent, and no one needed to come into her home.
This couple was connected to a fellow agent, who normally would have been paid a fee for arranging the lease. But, with community in mind, she asked that we pay her in grocery certificates that she could give to a family in need, as they were struggling through the Pandemic. Between us, and the current tenant who wanted to help, we did just that.
So, a win/win/win all around! But wait, there's more!
My good friend and client who owns a similar unit just happened to have a vacancy around this time as well. I was able to connect her to that lovely nurse, and they hit it off!
So, everyone ended up with tenanted units, no one was left homeless, we were able to help out in the community, and we all made new friends and connections in the process.
Sometimes it amazes me how one thing leads to another, and, in the end, it all comes together in the best way possible! Even in this uncertain time, there can be a perfect circle. :)
